Dear Santa Barbara SC & Central Coast Academy Players & Families,
Welcome back to the start of the 2022-2023 soccer season with Santa Barbara SC & Central Coast Academy! We are extremely excited to have everyone back on the fields within the next few weeks. The leadership and coaching staff are looking forward to the return of the passion, enthusiasm and energy of our players and coaches.
What an exciting year of soccer with the UEFA Women’s Euros, US Women’s National Team Qualifying for the World Cup and the upcoming US Men’s National Team World Cup in Qatar. On the local level Santa Barbara continues to be a soccer proving ground with the recent announcement of our very own USL men’s and women’s professional teams, Santa Barbara Sky, coming to our community. We are excited for our players to now have the opportunity to represent our town at the professional level of the game.
Santa Barbara SC and CCA continues to grow and prosper and will field over 50 competitive club teams represented in Coast Soccer, So Cal, DPL and MLS leagues. In addition, we continue to expand our reach to all players with our youth recreation leagues, clinics, and camps as well as our adult league.
Please familiarize yourself with the details below and we encourage you to check in with your managers and coaches as we approach the season. Please place special attention to the club structure portion so players and families can reach the proper leadership for questions.

Important Reminders: All players, parents, and managers will be using playmetrics this season for all club, team and player communications. Your child’s practice schedule and third day training is uploaded for you to access.
Club Structure & Staffing (New):
Director of Soccer (DOS), Gregory Wilson, will provide Internal support of all club competitive and recreational teams, programs and all soccer related units. Managing all Directors, Administrators and support staff connected to club soccer operations. Ensuring the club’s mission, vision, style of play and key principles are held to the highest standard across all programs. Including setting and guiding long term goals alignment with the club philosophy.
Lines of communication for the DOS will be directly to all Soccer Directors and Administrators as well as the Coaching Advisory Boards.
Directors of Coaching (DOC), Andrew Montenegro, Willie Sims & Christy Gates-Bowes will provide external communication and support to coaches, teams, players and parents. Ensuring that the player development curriculum, coaching philosophies, policies and procedures are always advocated by coach, player and parent alike, both on and off the field of play.
Lines of communication for the DOC’s will be directly with coaches, managers, players and parents.
