“We are so proud of the commitment and dedication these boys and girls have shown in both the classroom and on the field,” SBSC general manager Peter Young said. “Their hard work has given them opportunities to play at the next level and attend four-year colleges.”
Keoni Young, who has played in the SBSC for 11 years and attends San Marcos, will attend and compete at Point Loma Nazarene University as a left-side winger.
Gavin Sparks will join Young at Point Loma Nazarene, playing on the defensive front. Sparks also played in the club for 11 years and is a San Marcos Royal.
Jacob Medina will stay in town and play midfielder and striker for the UCSB Gauchos after 11 years with the club. He also attends San Marcos.
Zac Siebenlist, who attends San Luis Obispo High and spent eight years with SBSC, will join Medina at UCSB next fall and play forward.
Lauren Chirgwin, who will graduate from Santa Ynez High this winter, signed to attend Eastern Washington University beginning in January to study dental hygiene.
Ruby Stimer rounded out the group of signees by committing to Westmont College. She is currently a midfielder for Newbury Park High.
“For all the hard work they have put in on the pitch, they have put in just as much work in the classroom and we know their opportunities to play at the next level could not have been possible without their academy achievements,” Peter Young said.
