CENTRAL COAST AREA CLUBS COME TOGETHER TO FORM ELITE GIRLS COLLEGE SHOWCASE TEAMS

In the inaugural season, two local competitive soccer clubs have announced a partnership to work collectively in the best interest of each club’s high school age female players; in forming Elite-level Girls Tournament & Showcase Teams.  Santa Barbara Soccer Club & Kickers Soccer Club are among the initial committed clubs to form three new girls tournament teams for the 2020-21 season under a shared name – “Central Coast Elite”.

The partnership has preliminarily targeted the formation of tournament teams in the 2006, 2004 and 2002 age group birth years (which will include all interested high school birth year players 2006, 2005, 2004, 2003 and 2002).   Teams will remain with their existing clubs for the entire playing season with the exception of competing with the Central Coast Elite in a few college showcase events a year.

College showcases are essentially a tournament designed entirely to provide players a platform and exposure for recruitment to local, regional and national level Colleges and Universities. The partnership will enable female players on the Central Coast an enhanced opportunity, previously not attainable, through the Central Coast Elite to receive acceptance and entrance into the best of best College Showcases in the region.

“We are excited for all the female players on the Central Coast and welcome all players and clubs to join us in providing a platform for players to attend Colleges and Universities of their choice” said Director of Kickers Soccer Cub, Chris Chirgwin.

Additional details on open tryouts (all players and clubs are invited) dates and locations, roster sizes, coaches and leadership alignment and selected showcase will be released in the upcoming weeks.  The only costs to player/family will be associated with the tournament entry fee (including professional coaches expenses related to travel), travel/lodging for the selected showcase and uniform fees.
