Santa Barbara Soccer Club Boys Under-12 Team wins the Cal South National Championship this past weekend in Lancaster California.
Over the previous four weeks SBSC BU12 team played in six national tournament matches scoring 21 goals and not allowing a single goal against some of the top competition in the country. This win caps their greatest accomplishment to date having won the Coast Soccer League Cup Championship in December. The team is currently ranked 3rd in the U.S. for their age group and ranked 1st in the Western Region by NationalSoccerRanking.com.
The Team now advances to the Far West Regional Tournament in Albuquerque, NM in June to compete against the National State Champions from each member state in Region IV which are: California North, New Mexico, Arizona, Utah, Nevada and Colorado.

When interviewed about the achievments of the team coach Rudy said, “ The team played solid on both sides of the ball. Their transition from defense to offense was evident in that the team scored 21 goals and did not allow any goals in the tournament. I would like to thank these players for their commitment and hard work in training sessions and games during season. Winning a National Cup Tournament takes time and commitment from all players, and this is a great group of young men who have a great work ethic and love playing soccer. More importantly, they are good young men who will do well in life”.
